The purpose of an initial consultation is :

  • Make a diagnosis and propose treatment options
  • Listen to your needs
  • Inform you about the advantages and disadvantages of each of the possible treatments in your case
  • To answer your questions

After each pre-implant consultation, a detailed report is drawn up so that you can coordinate the appropriate treatment with your referring dentist, and inform him or her of any inconveniences that may be encountered.

The consultation is mandatory to plan a surgical procedure and takes place as follows:

  • A medical check-up to identify any pathologies, treatments or allergies that may interfere with the procedure. In some cases, you may need to contact your GP.
  • Clinical examination to gather information specific to each patient (amount of bone for an implant, position of wisdom teeth, presence of an abscess).
  • Appropriate radiological examinations: panoramic X-rays are systematically performed to establish the patient’s condition. For more complex procedures, or those requiring bone assessment and anatomical structures at risk (nerves, sinuses, etc.), a CT scan (CBCT) is performed.

Depending on the complexity of the case, additional examinations may be considered:

  • Photos: to study treatment possibilities
  • Optical impression: coupled with the scanner (CBCT) in the case of computer-assisted planning.
Once all these elements have been taken into account, Dr. Arnaud will be able to propose a treatment plan tailored to your case and provide a cost estimate.

In complex cases where several treatment plans are possible, a second consultation visit will be necessary to explain to the patient the possible treatment options, the advantages and disadvantages of each, and the differences in cost and duration of treatment.

When your surgery is scheduled, a complete file is given to the patient including :

  • Quote
  • Informed consent
  • Pre-operative advice on anaesthesia technique (local or general)
  • Post-operative advice after your operation
  • Medical prescription to enable the patient to purchase medication and prepare for the operation (some treatments must be started on the day of the operation).
