A post-operative follow-up at 10 days is mandatory to ensure a good start to healing.

Some procedures, such as removal of cysts and benign bone tumors, bone grafts and gingival grafts, require several follow-up appointments and x-rays. The frequency of follow-up is determined in the pre-operative consultation with Dr. Arnaud and is adapted to each individual case.

Like natural teeth, dental implants require professional maintenance. This is carried out by the dentist responsible for the restoration (crown or bridge) and the dental hygienist. But maintaining individual oral and peri-implant hygiene is the best way to avoid long-term complications.

Patients with dental implants are encouraged to visit a dental hygienist at least twice a year, and to use interdental brushes, water jets and dental floss to avoid plaque build-up at the crown/implant junction.
